T-Mobile myTouch 3G Features and Specifications

T-Mobile earlier this week on Monday announced the company’s second Android phone, the MyTouch 3G,  based on the HTC Magic platform. It will be available in 3 colors: White, Black and Merlot. It features a 3.2", 320×480 touch screen, 3.2-megapixal camera, MicroSD memory card slot, and built-in video recording and playback capabilities. The phone connects to the Internet via T-Mobile’s 2G and 3G networks, foreign 2G or 3G networks or Wi-Fi.  The myTouch 3G can be pre-ordered by existing T-Mobile customers starting July 8th for $199.99. HTC Hero Features and Specification

HTC today officially unveiled its next Android based touch screen smartphone called as HTC Hero. The smartphones though similar in its spec to the HTC Magic beats it with 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, 3.5mm headphone jack, improved battery life and Adobe Flash support.
What is exciting about this phone is the all new HTC Sense UI which breaks free from the dull Google-centric Android interface to deliver a fresh, smooth, sleek new way of staying in touch with people.

What’s new in Android 1.5 (Cupcake)? Full Feature List

T-Mobile today announced that it plans to begin sending out the Android 1.5 “Cupcake” update starting the end of next week. As with previous software maintenance releases, the update will be randomly sent “over the air” to T-Mobile G1 customers. T-Mobile expects everyone to have their update by the end of May.

New Android-based HTC Hero Images Leaked

Courtesy of the folks at Code Android Singapore, new images of the Android OS powered HTC Hero have surfaced. These images follow an earlier image that was leaked back in January. That image was that of an all pink HTC Hero. These new images however have a more traditional black matte finish. There is no other details available as of now. So just check out the images for now.

The T-Mobile G1 smart phone, the first wireless handset to be based on Google Inc.’s Android mobile operating system, carries a Bill-of-Materials (BOM) cost of $143.89, according to a virtual teardown conducted by iSuppli Corp.

Here is the step-by-step instructions on updating Android on your T-Mobile G1 manually. All you need is a computer, internet connection and a way to transfer the firmware to your Micro SD card.
