T-Mobile G1 to get most of Android ‘cupcake’ updates

With Google working on the Android OS updates code named “Cupcake” in the works, it was not sure when and what updates will be made available for the T-Mobile G1. Well today the second part of the question which is the “What updates” has been partly answered.

In a note received from HTC by the gadget site Engadget, HTC states that they are confident of seeing most of the “Cupcake” updates pushed on to the T-Mobile G1 soon. Just to refresh, Cupcake is expected to offer a number of application enhancements, including bug fixes, a video recorder, the ability to save MMS attachments, better bluetooth support, better HTTP handling and, most importantly, a new JavaScript engine built on SquirrelFish.

However, HTC also made it clear that they have no control over this situation and the decision is up to T-Mobile.
