Sprint announces Samsung Epic 4G
Sprint today announced its 2nd 4G capable phone (after HTC EVO 4G) called the Samsung Epic 4G. It is Sprint’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S line of smartphones. Just recently AT&T unveiled its own version of the Galaxy S called as Samsung Captivate to be released soon. The Samsung Epic 4G will feature a 4 inch Super AMOLED display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Processor, 5 MP camera and a VGA camera in the front. Powered by Android 2.1 OS (with an update to 2.2 in the near future), the Samsung Epic will also feature advanced touch screen gestures including multi-touch pinch, long tap and zoom and vertical and horizontal swiping.
No pricing or release date has been announced yet but just like all the smartphones coming out this summer we expect the Samsung Epic to be available for buying at around $199 and a launch date of later this summer.
