Samsung released 4 variant of its Galaxy S series of smartphones recently in the US across the big four carriers: Samsung Captivate from AT&T, Samsung Vibrant from T-Mobile,  Samsung Epic 4g from Sprint and most recently Samsung Fascinate from Verizon. Having 4 phones that belong to same family makes it a little difficult to pinpoint the differences among them that suits your needs to make a choose. So to make things easier, here is a side by side look at the features and specs of the 4 smartphones.

Camera

Of the 4 smartphones, only Samsung Epic 4G features a front facing camera while only Fascinate and Epic 4G feature a camera flash.

Memory

Even though all the 4 smarphones have MicroSD that is exapandable to 32 GB only Vibrant and Captivate have 16GB of Internal memory. Fascinate and Epic 4G have only 2GB and 1 GB internal storage respectively. But the carriers Verizon and Sprint make up for the lack of storage by bundling a 16GB SD card when you buy the device. T-Mobile and AT&T provide 2GB SD card along with the device purchase.

QWERTY Keyboard

Only Samsung Epic 4G features a Slide-out full QWERTY Keyboard

Mobile Hotspot

Only Samsung Fascinate and Epic 4G are capable of being a Mobile Hotspot providing connectivity to up to 5 devices

Connectivity

Of the four, only Epic works on the Sprint 4G network.

Carrier Specific Custom Content

Each of the devices are also packed with some custom content. Not only do you have the traditional stuff like VCAST Services and NFL Mobile on Verizon’s Fascinate, Sprint Football and Sprint TV on the Epic 4G, etc… you’re also treated to some special stuff depending on carrier. For example, T-Mobile’s Vibrant comes with the movie Avatar and Sims 3 game preloaded on the device and Sprint’s Epic 4G gets an awesome car racing game called Asphalt included.
