LG announces POP (GD510) Touchscreen smartphone
LG Electronics today announced a new touch screen Smartphone, the LG GD510 also called LG POP. LG calls this a simple full touchscreen Smartphone that consumers have been waiting for without the extra bulk and unnecessary features that resulted in higher prices.
The LG POP features a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen extends almost to the edges of the LG GD510 with a narrow 4.8 mm bezel and a single button on the face that works as the menu and also as the end and cancel keys. The LG GD510 will have a exterior crafted form brushed aluminum giving it a solid feel and a high-end look.
The LG POP will have full multimedia capability with music and movies played in various formats and internal storage capacity of 8GB. It will also feature a 3 megapixel camera to capture photos and video.
Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications says:
“We gave the LG GD510 an optimized feature set which allowed us to concentrate on making the phone more compact and simpler to use. Our high-end phones like the Black Label Series New LG Chocolate (LG BL40) may be getting all the attention but there’s a gap in the market for affordable touchscreen phones that we want to fill.”
The LG GD510 is expected to be available in mid-October first in Europe and then later on it will be launched in other markets.
