Gadget site Gizmodo has discovered a new option for Internet Tethering in the Network settings section in the recently releases iPhone 4.0 OS Beta software version. There is an alert message (seen in the picture) when setting up Internet Tethering for AT&T customers telling them to call AT&T at 611 or visit AT&T’s website to enable tethering on their account.

This seems to suggest that AT&T may be planning to offer the long-awaited feature with the arrival of iPhone OS 4. It is interesting to note that AT&T had indicated just a few weeks ago that it was "still waiting on better network performance" before enabling iPhone tethering.

Gizmodo is also reporting that if you aren’t seeing the tethering option despite having the newest iPhone OS beta, just reset your network settings and that issue should be fixed.
