G1 RC-33 Update coming with Google Latitude; Cupcake not included
It is being reported by some users on the T-Mobile official forums that they have received OTA update to their G1 phones, bringing the software version to RC-33. The most notable addition is the Google Latitude application With Google Latitude, you can see where your friends are and what they are up to, Quickly contact them with SMS, IM, or a phone call. All this while maintaining complete control over your privacy.
Unfortunately it has also been confirmed that this is not the eagerly awaited Android ‘cupcake’ OS update. T-Mobile has said that this update has gone on to only a few G1 phones as a test release. The full update is expected to be pushed to all G1 owners February New G1 activations are warned that they may receive the update up to 3 days after their data plan is activated.
