With all the speculation about the imminent release of the Samsung Fascinate (the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone), BoyGeniusReport has got its hand on some leaked photos from one of its sources. Elsewhere Phandroid has gotten hold of the Samsung Fascinate user guide. Not sure how long Verizon would keep this device under wraps.

Verizon has overnight updated its website and now it is accepting pre-orders from today for the slide-out keyboard version of the droid called the Motorola Droid 2.  Motorola Droid 2 is an improved much improved version of the original Motorola Droid featuring an enhanced QWERTY keyboard, ultra high-speed Web browsing, 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities and Adobe Flash Player 10.1 support  – all built on Android 2.2 OS.

Yesterday in a press release, Bill Ogle the Chief marketing officer said “With the new DROID 2, we’ve taken a big leap forward from the original DROID. We listened to consumers and are providing an even more robust experience built on Android 2.2 that includes a new keyboard, increased processing power, Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities to send, access and share information even quicker than before.”

DROID 2 will be available at www.verizonwireless.com on August 11, and it will be in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores beginning August 12 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Head over to verizonwireless.com for pre-ordering.

BlackBerry has unveiled its newest touchscreen smartphone called BlackBerry Torch 9800 running on its latest BlackBerry 6 OS. BlackBerry Torch features a 3.2" 360×480 capacitive touch screen display with a 35 key full QWERTY backlit vertical slide-out keyboard. This is the first device from BlackBerry to run on its latest BlackBerry 6 OS and it is powered by a powerful 624 Mhz processor with 512 MB Flash memory. Torch has a 5 MP camera with flash and can do video recording at up to 640×480 resolution.

Torch 9800 is a Quad-band GSM phone and will be available only for AT&T customers on August 12 in AT&T company owned retail stores and online at www.att.com/blackberrytorch, as well as at Wal-Mart, Best Buy and RadioShack stores. Sprint is expected to make an announcement Friday July 31st about the rollout of Android 2.2 (Froyo) update for HTC EVO 4G.  As per the pictures obtained by engadget the update will be pushed out starting the week of 8/1.

Some of the major improvements with this update will be new preloaded widgets, using the camera’s LED flash as a flashlight, light-assisted 720p video, and "improvement" to the quality of video capture, camera rotation in 4 orientation, adjustable alarm volume, and many more. Engadget is reporting that according to their reliable sources, Best Buy is prepping to give away free covers from invisibleSHIELD specifically designed to attach to the side antenna on the iPhone 4. It is just been a few days since Verizon launched the Motorola Droid X and it is already ready to release an OTA update starting today July 19th. The verison number of this update is called Version 1.13.604.MB810.Verizon.en.US/Baseband: BP_C01.09.04P and it has many improvements including Improved battery charging status indicator, Redesign of weather widget icons, Smoother transition for camera and camcorder functions, Faster Visual Voice Mail loading and many more. The OTA will be start rolling out on the 19th and will reach most of the handsets in stages over the following few days.

Motorola Droid X OS Update instructions:

1. You will be notified that a system update is available on your device. Press "Install now" and your device will power off and back on and the installation process will begin.
2. If you choose "Install later" this will delay installation and you will be taken back to the home screen. The system update message will appear every 60 minutes until you install the update.
3. If you do not press "Install now" or "Install later" within 3 minutes, the install will begin automatically.
4. After you’ve received the first notification of the system update, you can manually initiate by going to "Home" > "Menu" > "Settings" > "About phone" > "System updates". Press "Install Now". Your device will power off and back on and the installation process will begin.

Radio Shack has started accepting pre-orders for the new Samsung Vibrant from T-Mobile which is a Samsung Galaxy S device. This device will start shipping from July 21st and sells for $199 up front on a two-year contract. Radio Shack has sweetened the deal to include a $50 Gift card and without the hassle of Mail-in rebate.

The Samsung Vibrant features a 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display running on Android 2.1 OS with a speedy Samsung 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Processor. It comes with a 5-megapixel camera with digital zoom and autofocus, and has high-definition video recording capability at  720p.
