Yahoo! releases Search, Mail and Messenger Apps for Android

Yahoo today released many of their products for the Android platform including Android widget for Yahoo search, Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger apps and also HTML5 optimized Yahoo Mail and Yahoo News site.  These latest apps are optimized for popular Android devices like HTC Incredible, Motorola Droid Google Nexus One and HTC EVO 4G. And they are available for download from the Android Market for Android OS 2.0 and above.

Sling Media releases SlingPlayer for Android Smartphones

Sling Media Inc today announced the availability of its SlingPlayer Mobile application for Android Smartphones like Motorola Droid, HTC Droid Incredible, HTC Evo and Google Nexus One. Motorola Droid 2 & Motorola Shadow found on Verizon system

DroidLife has published images of 2 upcoming Motorola smartphones in the Verizon Wireless’ inventory system. One of them is the Motorola Droid 2 and the other which has the model number of MB810 looks like the Motorola Shadow.
This revelation comes immediately following Wall Street Journal’s published article on Motorola Inc. reaching a deal with Verizon Wireless to ensure some of its upcoming smartphones will be heavily promoted by the largest U.S. carrier.

Amazon brings Kindle App to Android

Amazon has announced that it will be releasing its Kindle App for Android OS this summer. When available this application will be free to use. With Kindle Android App you can search and browse more than 500,000 books, including more than 96 of 110 New York Times bestsellers.

Verizon finally begins Android 2.1 OTA update for Motorola Droid

After multiple postponements, the long awaited Android 2.1 OTA update for the Motoroal Droid is here. Starting at noon today (03/30) Verizon is ready to push the Android 2.1 OTA update to Droid users.
Initially a total of 1000 users will get the notification at noon while 9,000 more will get a similar alert just before midnight. If all goes well, all other users will get the update to Android 2.1 beginning Thursday the April fools day.
