Google Maps Navigation App now available for Android 1.6

When the Motorola Droid was released on Android 2.0 OS, it was the only device that had the Google Maps Navigation App (Beta) as a free feature of Google Maps. This was disappointing for owners of devices like the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and the G1 because these devices came with older version of Android. Tubaloo enables Android VoIP via 3G

A small Chilean company called Tubaloo has come up with a product of the same name that enables the use of 3G data networks for the purpose of IP phone calls.

Android v1.5 ‘Cupcake’ Release delayed yet again

The much anticipated cupcake release (which was to happen last week) of Android 1.5 with a big list of of new features, has been delayed yet again. Sprint on its forums site has announced that the release will now be delayed by a week. Oddly though the forum message is no longer accessible.

What’s new in Android 1.5 (Cupcake)? Full Feature List

T-Mobile today announced that it plans to begin sending out the Android 1.5 “Cupcake” update starting the end of next week. As with previous software maintenance releases, the update will be randomly sent “over the air” to T-Mobile G1 customers. T-Mobile expects everyone to have their update by the end of May.

After pushing the Capcake version of the Android OS for some users over the weeks, T-Mobile has confirmed that the during the week of May 11th it will start rolling out Android 1.5 via an over-the-air update.

It is being reported by some users on the T-Mobile official forums that they have received OTA update to their G1 phones, bringing the software version to RC-33. The most notable addition is the Google Latitude application With Google Latitude, you can see where your friends are and what they are up to, Quickly contact them with SMS, IM, or a phone call.
