U.S. Cellular today announced a new variant to the popular Samsung Galaxy S smartphone called the Samsung Mesmerize (SCH-i500). The Samsung Mesmerize features a 4-inch Super AMOLED™ touchscreen with 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird Application processor running on Android 2.1 OS.

A Phandroid tipster has provided an internal screenshot which reveals that RadioShack will start selling T-Mobile from 3rd October which is 3 days ahead of the official T-Mobile launch of 6th October. Verizon today as rumored pushed out an OTA update of the Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS to most of the Motorola Droid X users. If you have not yet receved the update then you can do it manually as well. You can "pull" the update by pressing ‘Menu’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘About Phone’ > ‘System Updates’.

HTC maker of the smartphones, have announced 2 new Android based smartphones: HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z. Lets take a look at the technical specification & gallery of the HTC Desire HD here. The HTC Desire HD features a huge 4.3-inch touch screen packed in an aluminum body with Dolby Mobile and SRS virtual sound. It also features a 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor, 8MP camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video recording, HSPA+ data with 802.11n WiFi also on board.

With all the speculation about the imminent release of the Samsung Fascinate (the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone), BoyGeniusReport has got its hand on some leaked photos from one of its sources. Radio Shack has started accepting pre-orders for the new Samsung Vibrant from T-Mobile which is a Samsung Galaxy S device. This device will start shipping from July 21st and sells for $199 up front on a two-year contract. Radio Shack has sweetened the deal to include a $50 Gift card and without the hassle of Mail-in rebate.

Case-mate has announced its first HTC EVO 4G cases called Barely There. The Barely There cases are made from flexible plastic shell and as the name suggests feature a very slim profile. This case comes with a screen protector included.
