BeeJive has been previously established as a top choice IM app for BlackBerry and after the release of its iPhone version, the app quickly moved up to the #2 best selling iPhone application in the iTunes Social Networking category for 2008. This even with a hefty price tag of $16.

This 2.0 version brings many enhancements including all types of file transfers whether it’s images, sounds, or documents. This new version will be available for free for those who already have the previous version of the application.

Probably the most important feature of this release is the ability to do Image transfers. BeeJive 2.0 for iPhone 3GTransfers function well in both directions. From PC-to-iPhone, it shows up right in the chat. From iPhone-to-PC, it defaults to sending the image as a link.

The other features include:

  • Voice Notes: Its as easy as selecting the microphone, recording and sending
  • File Transfers: Now you can trasfer number of audio, video, and image formats, Office documents (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and PDFs. You can view these files from within the BeeJive application.
  • Change the sending/receiving sounds from default to either AIM or Yahoo sounds.
